The main event on Smackdown ended in chaos as The Shield interrupted the clash between Sheamus and Big Show - only to be driven back from where they'd come from by the two Superstars and an emerging Randy Orton.
Sheamus had delivered a Brogue Kick to Big Show and looked set to take advantage against the grounded giant, but the three members of The Shield then emerged to launch an assault on the Celtic Warrior.
Randy Orton sprinted to the ring to even the odds and surprisingly, the Big Show returned to the ring to join the fight and drive The Shield away.
But the alliance soon broke down once they had scarpered with The Big Show hitting Sheamus with a KO punch and Orton hiting an RKO on The World's Largest Athlete
World Heavyweigth Champion Alberto Del Rio started the evening by mocking WrestleMania opponent Jack Swagger and his cohort Zeb Colter, but he had serious business to attend to when he faced Dolph Ziggler, eventually beating him with the Cross Armbreaker after AJ Lee and Big E Langston had been ejected from ringside.
In other matches, Ryback successfully beat Damien Sandow and was involved in a staredown with Mark Henry, who himself enjoyed a successful match against Yoshi Tatsu.
Team Hell No successfully defended their tag team titles against 3MB's Heath Slater & Drew McIntyre, but Divas Champion Kaitlyn suffered a loss in a non-title match against Tamina Snuka after Layla caused confusion.
Meanwhile, Fandango yet again cancelled his WWE debut against Justin Gabriel, citing SmackDown ring announcer Lilian Garcia's inability to pronounce his name to his satisfaction.
