Jose Bautista scored three home runs as American League East leaders Toronto Blue Jays claimed a 7-2 victory to condemn the Boston Red Sox to their seventh straight defeat.

Elsewhere, New York Mets recorded a 5-3 win over Los Angeles Dodgers, St Louis Cardinals claimed a third straight win with a 4-2 victory against Arizona Diamondbacks, Chicago Cubs were comfortable 5-1 winners against San Diego Padres and Seattle Mariners overcame Houston Astros 3-1.
