Britain's Aaron Cook clinched his third European Taekwondo Championship title in Azerbaijan with a dramatic golden-point win over compatriot Damon Sansum.

Sansum, who had knocked out world champion Tahir Guelec en route to the -80kg final, led Cook 5-1, 7-4 and 10-9, but needed a last-second punch to force over-time.

Cook then held his nerve to add the title to his successes in 2010 and 2012.

"I'm really happy to have won as it was a tough battle," said the 23-year-old.

"I'm in good form and really delighted to get some valuable ranking points on the road to Rio."

Britain's Jade Jones had to settle for silver as the London 2012 gold medallist was edged out by Spaniard Eva Calvo Gomez in a re-match of last year's World Grand Prix -57kg final.
