Pamela Cookey impressed for England against South Africa
England continued their dominance over South Africa with a 49-39 victory in the opening match of the Tri-Series in Port Elizabeth.
Anna Mayes' side have yet to taste defeat in 2013 - and brushed aside the Proteas 3-0 back in September.
However England found the South Africans a much tougher proposition on their own patch - with the host nation threatening an upset at one stage.
England only held a one-point lead at the end of the first quarter, however they were able to pull clear to lead 25-18 at the half-time interval.
South Africa came storming back to rattle England in the third quarter and trail by just three points.
However England were able cut loose in the final quarter, with Jade Clarke, Pam Cookey and Eboni Beckford-Chambers among those impressing.
England will be back in action on Thursday when they take on Trinidad & Tobago in their second match, live on Sky Sports 4 HD from 4.15pm.
