Ivica Kostelic: Clinched his 28th World Cup title
Ivica Kostelic claimed his first World Cup slalom victory of the season when he pipped Marcel Hirscher in the Slovenian resort of Kranjska Gora.
The 33-year-old clinched his 28th World Cup win at the main expense of Alexis Pinturault, who led after the first run before crashing out.
Hirscher had fought back from a poor opening descent to claim second spot 0.19secs behind the winner.
The Austrian had already agged the World Cup slalom title after chief rival Felix Neureuther crashed out in the first run.
"It's of course nice to have clinched that globe today but my main goal this morning was to achieve another strong race here," he said.
"I gave my all this afternoon as I only care for big points when I race and I wanted to try as hard as possible. It's really nice to be second and score crucial points before the Lenzerheide finals."
Hirscher's Austrian team-mate Mario Matt completed the podium.
