Marcel Hirscher: Set a record with his ninth successive podium
Marcel Hirscher won his third World Cup slalom race of the season with a 15th career title in Zagreb.
The Austrian also created a new World Cup record in making it nine successive podium finishes in both slalom and GS.
The 23-year-old clocked a combined time of one minute 56.17 seconds to beat Sweden's Andre Myhrer by 57 hundreths of a second while another Austrian Mario Matt was third, 1.09sec adrift.
Hirscher trailed Swede Jens Byggmark by the narrowest of margins after the first run but Byggmark could not respond and his hopes were dashed with a serious error which saw him plummet to 26th place.
The win sees Hirscher return to the top of the World Cup overall standings, 51 points ahead of Aksel Lund Svindal with Ted Ligety a further 177 behind.
