On August 23, Sky Sports News is leaving Freeview, enabling Sky to develop the channel through increased editorial investment and the launch of Sky Sports News HD.

Sky TV customers with either the Sports Pack or the News & Events Pack will be unaffected by the switch, while all other Sky TV customers will receive Sky Sports News as a six-month bonus channel until February 2011.

Sky Sports News has always been sports fans' number one choice for breaking news and this season, it's getting even bigger and better, with lots of exciting new developments for viewers to enjoy...

New look - A fresher feel and widescreen format, using more statistics and video to enrich the key stories of the day

Faster reaction to breaking news - more reporters and production trucks on the road

More live reports - covering an even wider range of major sporting events

Gillette Soccer Saturday - Jeff and the boys will be turning out exclusively for Sky Sports News

New programmes - including Sports Sunday and First, Fast and Now

New presenters - and a new giant touch screen for more in-depth analysis in the studio

New apps - Dedicated Sky Sports News apps for the iPhone and iPad

Sky Sports News is also launching in stunning high definition on Sky channel 455, so viewers can enjoy the new widescreen format with sharper picture quality and Sky Sports HD highlights.

Sky Sports News HD completes the line up of 5 Sky Sports HD channels, only available with Sky.

All 5 Sky Sports channels can also be enjoyed live on laptops and iPhones, so you'll never have to miss a moment.
