Carlos Tevez has dismissed reports suggesting that he threatened to leave Juventus if Roberto Mancini was to be appointed as their new manager.
The pair worked together at Manchester City but their relationship soured following a Champions League tie with Bayern Munich in 2011, during which Tevez was accused of refusing to come off the bench.
Mancini, who had his contract with Galatasaray mutually terminated at the end of last season, emerged as a leading candidate to fill the vacant Juventus post after Antonio Conte’s exit, but former AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri has since been installed.
Tevez is claimed to have issued an ultimatum on his future if Mancini was to be given the job, but the 30-year-old has moved to deny the rumours and says leaving the club has not crossed his mind.
"I have never spoke with (Giuseppe) Marotta about this," Tevez said at a press conference.
"The club is based on respect and I doubt the thoughts of a player could change anything. Those who write these stories should have more respect.
"I have never thought to leave - I've signed for three years and I want to end my contract here, staying with my team-mates."
Speaking of Conte’s exit, Tevez said: "I'm sorry Conte left, but he didn't disappoint me. I also wrote it on Twitter.
"We must be stronger as players and we must show that it has been the team who won, not only the coach, who helped us a lot.
"Allegri? I didn't know him, but we are working in a good way and this is the most important thing."
