Nejc Pecnik remains fully focused on Red Star Belgrade’s Serbian SuperLiga campaign, despite reported interest from Cagliari.

The Slovenia international was reportedly watched by Scottish Premiership side Celtic last season, but is now the target of Serie A side Cagliari.

Pecnik spent the 2012-13 season in the English Championship with Sheffield Wednesday before moving to Serbia, where he has netted seven goals in 32 appearances.

Despite speculation mounting over his future, Pecnik is concentrating on the task in hand, leaving any potential move with the club’s management.

“I don’t know if I will leave,” he told Sportski Zurnal.

“Firstly there must be an agreement between clubs.

“Until then, I’m still a Red Star Belgrade player and I’m completely focused on doing my job.”

Pecnik has featured in all three of Red Star Belgrade’s victories so far this campaign as they have made a perfect start to their SuperLiga defence.
