Nicky Henderson: Frustrated by the weather of late

Sky Bet

Nicky Henderson kept his planned runners for next week on the move on the main all-weather at Seven Barrows while praying for an end to the cold snap.

With little prospect of a complete end to the freeze, it is becoming increasingly frustrating for trainers whose plans are in a chaotic state with the Cheltenham Festival now looming large.

MOLOTOF is among a handful of high-class novice hurdlers Henderson wants to run imminently and the grey has been a fine servant to the stable this winter.

He's shown himself to be a battler at the top level, especially when scoring at Ascot in December, and he is due to have his final run ahead of Cheltenham at Exeter on Sunday if the meeting goes ahead.

NELSON'S BRIDGE has also cut the mustard in his two outings, easily landing a Bangor bumper and then showing a real aptitude for hurdling when taking the scalp of a well-regarded rival at Taunton.

He's been working like a top notcher and after floating up the strip in his breeze, he is on target for the same Exeter fixture.

STATE BENEFIT blotted his copybook with a couple of jumping errors at Haydock last time, mistakes that arguably cost him victory, but this normally fluent jumper has taken the race in his stride and looks in the mood to bounce back in another novice chase.

SEMI COLON should have won over hurdles at Cheltenham back in November but has failed to build on that in a dual-purpose campaign.

The mare is certainly capable of better and might well benefit from a confidence-boosting success at one of the smaller courses.

NATIVE BEAUTY is another mare that looked in good heart in her latest strong breeze and after a winning debut over hurdles at Towcester last month, she will take plenty of stopping on her next start, especially if kept against her own sex.

MASTER FIDDLE would possibly benefit from softer ground and this well-related gelding could be another seeking to have his confidence lifted through an opportunity at one of the minor tracks.

TWO OSCARS has been showing promise at home and is one to watch out for in a National Hunt Flat Race.
