Record breaker: Irene van Dyk hit the 3000 goal mark in round 3.
The trans-Tasman ANZ Netball Championships 2014 season reached round three last weekend...
There were more incredible results including two games being split by just a single goal!
Melbourne Vixens - home to England defender Geva Mentor - narrowly lost out to the Firebirds at the Hisense Arena before the Sydney-based Swifts were beaten by one at the Netball SA Stadium in Adelaide.
West Coast Fever's huge 79-43 win over Tactix has stated their intent for the rest of the season, while Pulse and the unbeaten Magic both recorded wins to keep themselves in top four alongside Thunderbirds and Vixens.
The big news of the weekend was that Pulse shooter Irene van Dyk created history by becoming the first player to break the 3000 goal barrier in the competition. The New Zealander was stuck on 2999 goals for the eight minutes in quarter four before she scored again in the last minute of the match.
After the game she said: "It's nice to clock them up, but it's just part of the game."
