Surrey Storm continued their unbeaten run in the 2014 ZEO Superleague season on Saturday evening with a convincing 60-40 victory over Loughborough Lightning at Surrey Sports Park.
Player-coach Tamsin Greenway named a strong squad to face the only side without a win in the league this season, including the return to the starting line-up for Becky Trippick.
Loughborough picked up an immediate turnover from Storm's first centre pass, but things didn't go their way from then onwards as the home side showed their strength in the opening exchanges.
Greenway established a firm attacking territory with shooter Rachel Dunn, leaving the shooters regularly unmarked in front of goal and allowing Storm to take a 20-5 lead into the first break.
Lightning came back in the second quarter and there were a few minutes of back and forth netball, Katy Harris ended a goal drought thanks to Dunn adapting her play and driving out of the circle. But Storm responded well to any sort of comeback from Loughborough's and it was 32-14 by the end of the second.
Surrey extended their lead impressively in the third quarter with the score at 45-27 to the home side before Greenway moved in a shooting position in the final quarter and helped edge heer team to their 60-40 win.
