Alvaro Negredo told Revista that the English footballing culture could tempt him to the Premier League.

The Sevilla striker, who has notched eight goals in his 16 La Liga appearances this season, has played his entire career in Spain, which has encompassed spells at Rayo Vallecano, Real Madrid B and Almeria, in addition to his current stint at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.

But the 27-year-old, part of Spain's Euro 2012-winning squad, says he could eventually swap the "scrutiny" of football in his homeland for a more serene life in England's elite division - a league he reckons he would thrive in.

"I know (Chelsea's) Juan Mata and Fernando Torres really enjoy it in England, where there is a different way of experiencing football compared to Spain," said Negredo.

"I think the English League is great and I think my style of football would be well suited to it.."

"They say it is easier for footballers to go out and about, whereas in Spain it is quite difficult to leave the house; they say you don't have as much scrutiny there and I like that.

"There comes a time when a cycle comes to an end and I don't know if it will be sooner or later (at Sevilla), but think the English League is great and I think my style of football would be well suited to it.

"This year, though, I am looking to beat my highest goal tally for a season; that was the 26 I scored two seasons ago.

"I like scoring goals but I also like beating my personal bests and that requires improvement - and if you improve it has a positive effect on the whole team."

Former Mallorca and Newcastle defender Marcelino believes Negredo, who has scored six times in his 12 appearances for Spain, has the skills to flourish in England.

"I have thought Negredo is a player for the Premier League for years," said Marcelino. "He is strong, works hard, has quality and can score goals. He offers a lot to his teams and he is a great footballer."

And Revista regular Guillem Balague says it would not be too difficult for top clubs to prise the Madrid-born frontman away from Sevilla.

Balague added: "Sevilla have debt of around 49million Euros; they say that is manageable and that they are not desperate to sell - but if you scratch a bit you will find that they are.

"Chelsea wanted Negredo but not enough - but I would say pay £18million for him."
