Defending champions the Miami Heat took a 2-0 lead in their Eastern Conference play-off semi-final against the Brooklyn Nets with a 94-82 win at AmericanAirlines Arena.

Miami trailed for much of the match up until near the end of the third period but battled back to record an eighth successive play-off victory, star forward LeBron James leading the way with a game-high 22 points for the in-form Heat.

Last season's runners-up the San Antonio Spurs also boast a 2-0 lead in the Western Conference after defeating the Portland Trail Blazers 114-97 at AT&T Center.

Kawhi Leonard led seven Spurs players into double-digit scoring with 20 points while Tony Parker contributed 16 points, 10 assists and five rebounds for the victors.
