Sri Lanka continued their preparations for their upcoming limited-overs matches against England with a comfortable 128-run win over Kent at Canterbury.

Skipper Angelo Mathews top-scored with 51 as the tourists made 301-7 after being put into bat, a score that proved well beyond their county opponents as Kent were bowled out for 173.

Suranga Lakmal, Thisara Perera and Ajantha Mendis all claimed three wickets apiece for Sri Lanka, with the only real resistance from their hosts coming from Alex Blake.

The 25-year-old hit seven boundaries in his knock of 60 having arrived out in the middle after his team had lost two wickets in as many deliveries to slip to 17-2, Daniel Bell-Drummond and Fabian Cowdrey both falling to Lakmal.

Skipper Sam Northeast made 26, as did Adam Ball, while Sam Billings managed 29 as he and Blake shared a fifth-wicket alliance worth 58. The innings subsided quickly, the last four wickets going down for the addition of 12 runs.

Robbie Joseph had earlier taken 4-58 for Kent with the ball, Mathews one of his victims in a Sri Lanka innings that saw plenty of players make contributions without then kicking on.

Lahiru Thirimanne (49) and Dinesh Chandimal, who ended up unbeaten on 47, both prospered, while experienced trio Tillakaratne Dilshan (35), Kumar Sangakkara (33) and Mahela Jayawardene (30) all enjoyed time at the crease.

Sri Lanka next face Sussex in their final tour fixture before the one-off Twenty20 International at the Oval. They then face England in a five-match ODI series, all live on Sky Sports.
