Bradford Bulls hooker Matt Diskin says the team will be much-improved against Huddersfield Giants in the wake of their heavy defeat against Hull FC.

The Bulls had won two straight going into Friday night’s trip to the KC Stadium, but a 44-16 loss abruptly ended that run.

Former Leeds Rhinos man Diskin insists the Bulls were their own worst enemy in East Yorkshire with a number of handling errors failing to help their cause.

Next up for Bradford are the reigning League Leaders’ Shield winners and Diskin retains the belief they can cause an upset providing they up their game.

“We were our own worst enemies against Hull,” Diskin told the club’s official website. “We coughed up possession too many times and made silly errors.

Well drilled

“If we play like that against any team, never mind a group as established and well drilled as Hull, we will get punished.

We know, set for set, that we are capable of matching any team in the league and despite our small squad we will put up a fight against anyone.

“We know, set for set, that we are capable of matching any team in the league and despite our small squad we will put up a fight against anyone.

“Last Friday we did not do ourselves justice and everyone wants to prove a point. Huddersfield have some of the best players in the league but we have high quality in our squad and if we play to the level we know we can it will be a tough and tight game.

“They are a very strong side with great half backs that work behind big forwards. The Giants rely on go forward, so if we match them blow for blow and correct the mistakes from last week we know we have some good plays in us and can cause an upset.”
