Rumford on fire with the putter
Rumford became only the third Australian to win back-to-back tournaments in the 41-year history of the European Tour after romping to a four-shot triumph at the Volvo China Open.
The 35-year-old Western Australian followed up his success at the Ballantine's Championship in Korea a week earlier by closing out a comfortable win on the final day in Tianjin thanks to his incredible putting
"After the second day I was questioning whether he could continue holding all the putts but he has - in fact he got better," said Spence on Sky Sports.
"The yardage he has held, well I can't remember anyone holding that length of putt ever. It certainly adds evidence to the use of these long putters - he has been using it for a few years and you have got to master the art of it -which he has. When you start holding puts like that you can win anything.
"It is very unusual to win back-to-back events, especially in two big events," added Spence
"But he is a class act around the greens; this is not a flash in the pan for him because he is a top player."
