Wales international to remain with French club

Toulon have revealed that Wales international Gavin Henson will remain with the club. The 29-year-old had been suspended by the Top 14 outfit for breaching club discipline in the aftermath of the victory over Toulouse. Henson was alleged to have clashed with his own team-mates after only his second appearance since moving from Saracens as a medical joker. Initial reports had claimed Henson's deal would be terminated, with club president Mourad Boudjellal claiming the former Osprey was difficult to manage. However Boudjellal has decided to reinstate Henson following a meeting with coach Philippe Saint-Andre after apparent new evidence emerged about the incident. "Last Monday I decided to separate myself from Gavin, but new evidence prompted me to take a little longer," Boudjellal told L'Equipe. A statement from the club added: "President Mourad Boudjellal and Toulon's sporting staff have decided to reintegrate Welsh centre Gavin Henson into the Toulon squad. "Gavin Henson therefore remains at the disposition of the squad in his capacity as a medical wildcard for Clement Marienval." Henson joined Toulon on an initial five-month deal as cover for Marienval, with the centre hoping to impress enough to secure a two-year contract.
