McGrath: Tipping a 5-0 rout

Glenn McGrath has backed his former Australia team-mates to record a 5-0 rout in the Ashes series.

It is not the first time McGrath has predicted a whitewash, with the paceman making the bold proclamation back in 2005 - only for England to famously record a 2-1 victory.

However McGrath, who has been drafted into the Australia squad to assist with the fast bowlers, believes only the weather can deny Ricky Ponting's side a whitewash this time around.

"My prediction is it will be 5-0 to Australia," McGrath, who was part of the Australia side that celebrated a 5-0 Ashes whitewash over England in 2007, told The Australian.

"I've got total confidence in the boys, especially watching the way they played in South Africa in the last Test series.

"I thought that would have given them a lot of confidence. They showed what they can do and the huge potential that they've got.

"If they can do the same here and maybe even improve in one or two areas they will do really well and probably win 5-0."

What do you think of McGrath's prediction? Can the Aussie's win all five Tests or will England come out on top? Let us know using the form below.
