A goal and two assists from captain Sidney Crosby lifted the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 3-0 victory over Nashville on Saturday, dealing a first regulation loss of the NHL season to the Predators.

Marc-Andre Fleury made 25 saves at Bridgestone Arena - his first shutout of the campaign and the 29th of his career - to help the Penguins snap a two-game skid.

Jaromir Jagr netted an overtime winner as the New Jersey Devils overcame Ottawa 3-2 on an emotional night at Canadian Tire Centre as the Senators - along with the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs - honoured Canadian soldiers Nathan Cirillo and Patrice Vincent, who died this week.

The St Louis Blues halted a two-game losing streak with a 3-2 success against the Chicago Blackhawks thanks to goals from Jaden Schwartz, Ryan Reaves and Dmitrij Jaskin.

Two goals from Jason Zucker led the Minnesota Wild to a 7-2 triumph over the Tampa Bay Lightning at Xcel Energy Center.

In other games, the Philadelphia Flyers saw off the Detroit Red Wings 4-2, the Buffalo Sabres ended a four-game skid by toppling the San Jose Sharks 2-1 and Joel Ward notched twice in the Washington Capitals' 3-1 victory over the Calgary Flames.
