With just a week to go before Gleneagles hosts the 40th Ryder Cup, the club’s manager of courses says The Centenary layout is “in pristine condition.”
Scott Fenwick, told Sky Sports News HQ, “We’re really happy with the condition of the course and it’s shaping up really well.
“We’re on schedule and preparations are going well. The rough may get heavier, which will make it more challenging, and all the playing surfaces are in pristine condition.
“It’s been 13 years in the making and the groundstaff are up for it. It’s all going to plan.”
Despite some low cloud and dismal weather conditions during the past few days, Fenwick is unconcerned that the three-day match may be adversely affected by rain or cold.
He added: “The forecast for next weekend is looking good.”
