American golfer Michelle Wie will miss next week’s LPGA Championship because of a hand injury.
Wie will miss five weeks of the season because of the problem, putting her participation in the Evian Championships in doubt too.
A statement confirmed she has a "stress reaction in a bone of the index finger on her right hand."
"I was looking forward to playing the next three weeks. It's honestly one of my favorite stretches on tour," Wie said.
"It's extremely disappointing to miss these events, but I am relieved to have a proper diagnosis."
After winning the US Women's Open and sharing eighth at the Arkansas Championship, Wie missed the cut at the Women's Open and at the Marathon Classic.
She then withdrew from this week's Meijer Classic during the first round.
