Transfer news: Claudio Yacob could leave West Brom, says Alan Irvine

Alan Irvine has insisted West Bromwich Albion are not looking to sell Claudio Yacob, but concedes it is possible that he may leave.

The midfielder, who has been at West Brom for the past two years, is reportedly a target for a number of teams across Europe.

Irvine hopes he will stay but has not ruled out a departure for the right price, with Yacob reported to be valued at around £5million.

"If someone comes in and makes a decent offer, the club will decide whether to do business or not," said Irvine.

"We're not actively looking to sell Claudio, definitely not.

"But could it happen? Could someone come in for him? Possibly."

Irvine has been frustrated in his attempts to add to his squad this summer and feels that he still needs to bring in a few more players.

He said: "We still don't have wide men or another centre-forward.

"We need another option up front, so those are areas we are looking to strengthen.

"But in today's market it is very difficult to do deals."
