Super League: Hull KR v Salford Red Devils preview
Last Updated: 19/07/14 6:59am
Hull KR host Salford Red Devils at the KC Lightstream Stadium in a clash of sides looking to push into the Super League playoffs.
The hosts will be aiming to bounce back from a 30-6 loss at Leeds last time, which followed their excellent 40-10 home success over high-flying St Helens.
That loss left Chris Chester’s men in ninth position in Super League with 18 points from their opening 20 games, just a point behind eighth-placed Widnes.
Salford beat KR’s rivals Hull FC 35-22 last time to boost their playoff hopes, now sitting just four points off the Vikings in 12th position.
Iestyn Harris’ in-form Red Devils have now won two on the bounce following a 36-10 upset at Huddersfield the match before.
Team news
Second rower Jason Chan will make his Hull KR debut after arriving on loan from Huddersfield, taking the place of Rhys Lovegrove after he was concussed during the loss at Headingley.
Craig Hall looks set to switch to full-back in the absence of Greg Eden, who is dropped for the visit of the side he spent a month on loan at earlier this season.
Salford are without second rower Gareth Hock, who starts a seven-match suspension.
Coach Harris has added Logan Tomkins and Francis Meli to the team that beat Hull and will give a late fitness test to full-back Kevin Locke, who missed the win over the Black and Whites with a groin strain.
