Spain's Roberto Bautista Agut resisted a spirited comeback from Lukas Rosol to clinch the Mercedes Cup and his second ATP Tour title.

The world No 28, seeded third in Stuttgart, quickly took a one-set lead, but unseeded Czech Rosol hit back swiftly to level the final and force a decider.

However, Bautista Agut soon wrested back the initiative and safely navigated his way towards a 6-3 4-6 6-2 victory to double his ATP title haul. He also triumphed at June's Topshelf Open in 's-Hertogenbosch.

It has been a prosperous 30-day period for the 26-year-old from Castello, who reached the third round of Wimbledon for the first time in his career only to lose to defending champion Andy Murray in three sets.

Rosol's quest for a second ATP title continues.

The world No 48, Rafael Nadal's surprise second-round conqueror at Wimbledon in 2012, won the BRD Nastase Tiriac Trophy in Bucharest in April 2013, but, after reaching this year's final, surrendered the trophy to Grigor Dimitrov.

Bautista Agut will break into the top 20 for the first time when the new rankings are released on Monday.
