Nathan Brown: Has decided to make several changes for the derby against Widnes
St Helens coach Nathan Brown has opted to rest a number of players for the clash with Widnes on Easter Monday.
With a tiring 33-14 defeat to arch-rivals Wigan being followed by another derby just 72 hours later, Brown has opted to make full use of his squad for the trip to the Select Security Stadium Halton.
Jonny Lomax, Luke Walsh, James Roby, Alex Walmsley, Jordan Turner and Mark Flanagan all started against the Warriors but are not included in the 19-man squad for Monday's clash.
Greg Richards, who started on the bench against Wigan on Friday, has also been taken out of the squad.
The rotational policy paves the way for academy players Matty Fozard and Lewis Galbraith to potentially make their debuts.
Hosts Widnes make three changes to their 19-man squad after being thrashed 44-6 by rivals Warrington on Good Friday.
Half-back Grant Gore and prop Adam Lawton could make their first starts of the Super League season if they are selected in the match-day squad.
Gore, who has not played in the league since suffering a serious knee injury at the end of last season, missed out on the final 17 against Warrington. Lawton comes in to replace loanee Paul Clough, who will not play against parent club St Helens.
The other two changes see Phil Joseph and Jon Clarke replaced by fellow forwards Dave Allen and Macgraff Leuluai.
Widnes squad: Allen, Brown, Cahill, Craven, Dean, Flynn, Galea, Gerrard, Gore, Hanbury, Isa, Johnson, Kavanagh, Lawton, Leuluai, Owens, Phelps, Tickle, White.
St Helens squad: Makinson, Jones, Hohaia, Masoe, McCarthy-Scarsbrook, Wilkin, Greenwood, Wheeler, Walker, Dawson, Thompson, Hand, Forster, Savelio, Fozard, Galbraith, Wellens, Soliola, Tilley.
