Mat Berquist kicked 20 points while Ludovico Nitoglia, Luke McLean, Michele Campagnaro, Manoa Vosawai and Matteo Muccignat all scored tries as the Italian side took a bonus-point win at the Stadio Comunale di Monigo .
Matthew Screech, Ross Wardle and Cory Hill crossed for the Dragons, who all scored two penalties via Jason Tovey.
The visitors, who could have climbed into the top seven with a big win, started with promise and led 6-3 through two Tovey penalties, either side a Berquist effort.
However, Nitoglia crossed and three more successful penalties gave the hosts a 19-6 advantage at half-time.
Two tries early in the second half, from McLean and Campagnaro, then strengthened the home side's position and although Screech crossed for the Dragons, Vosawai's try ruled out realistic hopes of victory.
Wardle and Hill went over again for Lyn Jones' side as the game neared its conclusion - but in between Muccignat touched down to keep the Dragons well behind.
