Hurricanes boss Mark Hammett has made two changes to his side for Friday's clash with the Brumbies in Wellington.

Amongst the forwards, Adam Hill comes into the run-on side on the blindside flank for Faifili Levave who has been ruled out through injury while, in the back-line, James Marshall replaces Marty Banks at full-back.

Hammett and his charges are excited to play their first home match of the season after they suffered two defeats - to the Sharks and Stormers - on their recent tour to South Africa.

There will also be a special post-match presentation at this weekend's fixture to mark Ben Franks' 100th Super Rugby game which he achieved against the Stormers last weekend.

Andrew Smith will start at inside centre for the Brumbies, replacing Wallaby midfielder Pat McCabe who will start on the replacements bench.

In other changes, Jarrad Butler shifts from number eight to openside flanker as a replacement for the injured David Pocock, while captain Ben Mowen moves to number eight and Scott Fardy from lock to blindside flanker.

Fardy's switch means Leon Power will partner Sam Carter in the second row in his first start since the Brumbies clash against the Rebels in Canberra last year.

Jordan Smiler, JP Smith and Josh Mann-Rea come onto the bench for Power, Ruaidhri Murphy and Siliva Siliva. Aside from McCabe the replacement list of Ruan Smith, Lachlan McCaffrey, Conrad Hoffmann and Lionel Cronje remains the same as last week's match in Perth.

Hurricanes: 15 James Marshall, 14 Cory Jane, 13 Conrad Smith (c), 12 Hadleigh Parkes, 11 Julian Savea, 10 Beauden Barrett, 9 TJ Perenara, 8 Blade Thomson, 7 Jack Lam, 6 Adam Hill, 5 Mark Reddish, 4 Jeremy Thrush, 3 John Schwalger, 2 Dane Coles, 1 Ben Franks.
