Once the jewel in the Super League crown, Bradford Bulls have once again hit the buffers.

New owners have come and gone, the club has twice been placed into administration and on Tuesday it was announced that the Bulls are to be docked six points.

Proposed new owners - Bradford Bulls 2014 Ltd. - immediately announced that they have pulled out of the deal to buy the club because of the points sanction.

And Paul Cullen, Widnes' Director of Rugby, told Boots 'n' All that the "chaos" at Odsal is scuppering the prospect of improving and expanding the game.

He said: "We hope for some finality.

In respect to the RFL you have to feel for them - well I certainly do - because they appear to be damned if they do and damned if they don't, so we must have rules.

"It's chaos, we can't simply go along with clubs going in to bankruptcy and administration and ringfence those players and that club - the greater good is what we must look for.

"We need a strong game that can afford to survive, live within its means and play in Super League. If at this moment in time that happens not to be the case for the Bradford then so be it.

"I feel sorry for Bulls supporters who do nothing but turn up every week and put their hard earned through the turnstiles.

"But if that club or any club can't run itself in a proper and orderly fashion then it shouldn't be a part of a game that is strengthening itself to take on the Australians, whether in a one-off World Club Championship like or in an expanded competition.

"It seems to be chaotic at the moment. We're talking of expanding competitions and you look around and clubs are going to the door. We must have some sanity somewhere in the middle of that."
