Darrell Griffin: Facing six to eight weeks out

Big-spending Salford's perfect start to the Super League season has been hit with the news prop Darrell Griffin is set to be out for up to two months with a knee injury.

The former Wakefield, Leeds and Huddersfield front-rower suffered ligament damage during the Red Devils' 44-18 win at London Broncos on Saturday.

Salford will also be without stand-off Rangi Chase and centre Junior Sa'u again against St Helens on Thursday but have skipper Adrian Morley back to take Griffin's spot after he sat out the game in Barnet.

Former St Helens forward Tony Puletua also returns from injury to face his old club and Salford coach Brian Noble confirmed: "We've lost Darrell Griffin for six to eight weeks.

"Chase's calf is still no good and Sa'u is probably 60-40 against playing but, other than that, we're pretty healthy.

"Morley and Puletua come back into the mix, as does Andrew Griffin."

St Helens coach Nathan Brown, whose side have also won their opening two league fixtures, is set to name an unchanged line-up as long as centre Jordan Turner fully recovers from concussion.

Utility forward Mark Flanagan, whose last appearance was last April, has been added to the visitors' 19-man squad.

You can watch Salford v St Helens on Sky Sports HD1 from 19.30 on Thursday
