PSV Eindhoven struck twice in the second half to claim a 2-0 win at struggling NEC Nijmegen, while Heerenveen played out a 0-0 draw at NAC Breda.

Bryan Ruiz broke the deadlock in the 58th minute and Memphis Depay made the points safe eight minutes from time.

The win moved fifth-placed PSV two points behind Vitesse Arnhem and three behind third-placed Feyenoord, both of whom have a game in hand.

Cambuur Leeuwarden deepened basement boys Roda JC's relegation worries with a 1-0 win, Paco van Moorsel with the goal in the last minute after Roda had had Kees Luyckx (87) and Guy Ramos (89) sent off.

PEC Zwolle also scored in the 90th minute as Furdjel Narsingh's equaliser earned a 1-1 draw at home to Heracles Almelo.

Jeroen Veldmate had put the visitors in front five minutes before the break.

Elsewhere, Heerenveen were held to a 0-0 draw at home to NAC Breda.
