Morecambe v Oxford preview

Image: Jamie Devitt: Serving a suspension

Team news for Saturday's League Two clash between Morecambe and Oxford United at Globe Arena.

On-loan midfielder Jamie Devitt will begin a three-match suspension when Morecambe entertain Oxford at the Globe Arena. Devitt was dismissed late on in Tuesday's 1-1 draw at Exeter for an apparent head-butt during a huge melee over a non-penalty call which angered the hosts. Fortunately for the Shrimps, they do have Alex Kenyon back from a three-game ban and he will be expected to slot straight into the midfield. Boss Jim Bentley is hopeful on full-back Shaun Beeley's knee injury and striker Jack Redshaw's illness but the game may come too soon for winger Marcus Marshall (hamstring). Oxford will check on striker Dave Kitson before the trip to Morecambe. The former Reading forward came off in the 58th minute of their 3-2 defeat at Newport on Tuesday night and is a doubt with a hamstring problem, but Danny Rose is set to feature after shaking off an illness which forced him off at the break against the Exiles. The U's will definitely be without Tom Newey who serves the first of a two-game ban for picking up 10 yellow cards this season while Michael Raynes (hip) and Sean Rigg (calf) look set to miss out once more. Tuesday night's defeat ended Oxford's 16-game unbeaten away run in League Two, which stretched back almost 11 months.
