France captain Olivier Elima has been banned for four games after being found guilty of dangerous play during the Catalan Dragons' clash with Hull.

Elima was put on report by referee Ben Thaler for twisting the legs of hooker Aaron Heremaia during their 36-34 Super League defeat last Friday.

He was charged by the Rugby Football League's match-review panel with a grade D offence, carrying a ban of between three and five matches, and his punishment was confirmed on Tuesday.

Should the Dragons games go as scheduled, Elima will not be eligible to return to their squad until they face Huddersfield in round six on March 22.
