Marin Cilic came back from a set down to defeat local wildcard Igor Sijsling and set up a meeting with Tomas Berdych in the final of the ATP World Tennis tournament in Rotterdam.

The Croat lost the first set but went on to dominate the next two to take the match 5-7 6-3 6-2 and ensure he will face a clash with the third seed from the Czech Republic.

It means Cilic, who served a four-month doping suspension last year, will be targeting back-to-back tournament wins, having triumphed last week in Zagreb.

Berdych has the chance to win his first ATP World Tour title since October 2012 after easing into the final with a straight-sets success against Latvian Ernests Gulbis.

Aces

Berdych took just an hour and 16 minutes to win 6-3 6-2 and was rarely troubled by his opponent.

Seven aces and just five first service points dropped by Berdych told the story of a one-sided match which took him to a 4-2 head-to-head record over Gulbis in ATP Tour meetings.

Berdych said on the ATP World Tour's official website: "I was very pleased with the way I played and handled the game.

"At 2-1 [in the second set], I was 40-0 up, but Ernests went full power and played some really great tennis.

"He got a break point, but I managed to save it with an ace. It was a special game."
