Conor Clifford: Serving suspension

Team news for Saturday's League Two clash between Southend United and Exeter City at Roots Hall.

Southend will be without suspended midfielder Conor Clifford for their home clash against Exeter.

Clifford stepped off the bench in last weekend's 2-1 defeat at Mansfield before being sent off and now faces a four-match ban.

Defender Luke Prosser is expected to be okay having missed out against the Stags after failing to fully recover from an operation to his fractured cheekbone, although he will have to play wearing a protective face mask.

Right-back Luke O'Neill remains a doubt due to his thigh problem, while long-term absentee Julian Bennett (knee) has resumed running with a view to playing again before the end of the season.

Exeter will assess the fitness of two defenders ahead of the trip to Southend.

Former Shrimper Pat Baldwin was withdrawn at half-time of the 1-1 draw with Portsmouth last weekend with a hamstring problem and Scot Bennett came off with mild concussion, forcing manager Paul Tisdale into a defensive reshuffling.

The City boss hopes that at least one of them will be available with the likes of Jordan Moore-Taylor on standby at Roots Hall.

The Grecians make the trip on the back of three draws but have won just two matches since October 19.
