Juan Cala could feature for Cardiff against Swansea on Saturday
Cardiff have announced that they have completed the signing of Spanish defender Juan Torres Ruiz Cala on a two-and-a-half year contract.
The 24-year-old becomes Cardiff's seventh new signing since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took over as manager.
Cala had his contract with Sevilla terminated last weekend and, having trained with his new team mates all week, he is available for Saturday's crucial south Wales derby against Swansea.
The Cardiff website reported: "A Spanish U19 International, Cala joined Sevilla in 2000, progressing through the club's youth system.
"He made his senior debut for the La Liga side in 2009, in a 1-0 win over Rangers in the UEFA Champions League.
"Cala has since made 32 appearances for the Spanish club in all competitions. Before joining Cardiff City, he made 15 appearances for Sevilla in the 2013/14 La Liga season, scoring in his last outing, a 2-1 win over Villarreal.
"All at Cardiff City welcome Juan and wish him every success in the Welsh capital."
Cala joins Magnus Wolff Eikrem, Mats Moller Daehli, Jo Inge Berget, Fabio, Kenwyne Jones and Wilfried Zaha in being signed for Cardiff by Solskjaer, who took charge at the start of the year.
Swansea v Cardiff is live on Sky Sports 1 at 5.30pm on Saturday
