Glasgow will host a Diamond League meeting at Hampden just before the Commonwealth Games.

The London leg of the 2014 IAAF Diamond League has been moved to Scotland and will be known as the Sainsbury's Glasgow Grand Prix and will take place on July 11 and 12.

The opening ceremony for the Commonwealth Games will be staged at Celtic Park on July 23, with Hampden hosting the athletics events and the August 3 closing ceremony.

Tara Hewitt, Head of Sponsorship at Sainsbury's, said: "As part of our new long-term relationship with British Athletics we're delighted that the 2014 IAAF Diamond League is coming to Glasgow and will be known as the Sainsbury's Glasgow Grand Prix.

"Just last month at the Sainsbury's Glasgow International Match we saw the passion of the Scottish crowd and their enthusiasm for athletics, and look forward to seeing this again in the summer."
