Dave Edwards: Will see current contract expire in the summer

Wolves boss Kenny Jackett is hoping to see Dave Edwards and Jack Price agree extensions to their current contracts.

Both men are due to become free agents in the summer if fresh terms are not put in place.

Jackett would like to see the pair remain part of his plans heading forward and is confident agreements which suit all parties can be reached.

He told the Birmingham Mail: "Edwards is a good player who has played very well for us. He's a consistent player and a very good personality.

"Do I think he'll be here next year? Yes. He is out of contract and no decision has been made yet but I wouldn't say he needs to play a certain amount of games this year to earn one.

"It just really is where we are at the time and where we would assess him going forward - not necessarily on what he's done because we know he's a good player.

"If we're looking to the end of the season we don't know what division we are going to be in yet, so in terms of our planning we have to wait and see. But Dave is someone I've got some time for."

Of Price, who signed a one-year extension in January 2013, Jackett added: "It's not one that we've necessarily talked about but, again, he's a player I like. Before this year he hadn't played any games or been out on loan.

"Speaking to people who've been here some time - Kevin Thelwell - they've kept Price in their system because of his size, he's been a late developer. That looks a very good decision now and some good management by Kevin and by Wolves.

"By giving him that extra year and then judging him at 20 looks a very good decision now because he has come through this season and in recent times has shown a maturity beyond his years and his experience."
