Jonathan Davies: The centre has returned to fitness ahead of schedule
Wales centre Jonathan Davies will make his return from injury on Saturday when the Scarlets take on London Irish in the LV= Cup.
Davies suffered a torn pectoral muscle during Wales' opening autumn series defeat against South Africa three months ago, putting his participation in this year's Six Nations in serious danger.
"It's good news he has had such a speedy recovery, and he has done really well to get back in the time-frame he has."
Initially it was thought the British and Irish Lion wouldn't be ready to make his comeback until late February, however he is ahead of schedule in his recovery.
His availability for his club side opens up the possibility that the 25-year-old could play for his country against Ireland in Dublin next weekend
"It is an opportunity for Jon to get game-time after such a long lay-off," Scarlets head coach Simon Easterby said.
"It's good news he has had such a speedy recovery, and he has done really well to get back in the time-frame he has.
"He is ready and will play his part for us on the weekend."
Wales begin their 2014 Six Nations campaign on Saturday at home to Italy, as they bid to lift the trophy for an unprecedented third time in a row.
With Davies not available, head coach Warren Gatland has selected Scott Williams and Jamie Roberts as his centre partnership for the fixture at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.
