Julian Speroni: The goalkeeper is eyeing a place in Argentina's World Cup squad
Crystal Palace goalkeeper Julian Speroni has spoken out about his dream to play in this year's World Cup with Argentina.
The 34-year-old has been ever-present in the Premier League for Palace so far this season, prompting suggestions that he could finally earn a full international call-up.
Speroni is yet to earn a cap for the senior side, but says he is eager to impress national team boss Alejandro Sabella and work his way into the squad for the March international break.
"Since I played for the under-20s side it's been a dream of mine to play for the senior national team," he told Sells.
"Obviously it's not my decision so all I can do is keep working hard, keep performing and hopefully the call will come and I will get my chance.
"I know there is an international break in March so we'll have to wait and see what happens.
"I'm playing regularly in one of the top leagues in the world now and I'm doing well so I'm just hoping that the coaching staff will have a look at me."
Speroni also hailed the impact that Tony Pulis has made since his arrival at Selhurst Park.
"Results have been strong since he came in, we look more solid and more dangerous going forward," he said.
