Brentford goalkeeper Liam O'Brien has signed a new contract to keep him at the club until the end of the current season.

The 22-year-old, yet to make a first-team appearance for the Bees but an unused substitute on eight occasions, joined the club in August on a three-month deal and signed a two-month extension in November.

Brentford boss Mark Warburton told the club's official website: "We are pleased to extend Liam's contract through until the end of the season and this gives him the opportunity to both fully recuperate following his recent surgery and, more importantly, continue to impress the staff with his application and technical ability.

"He will provide important cover to David Button and Richard Lee while young Jack Bonham continues his development out on loan at Arlesey Town."
