Brian Howard: Could be heading home

Sky Bet

Sky sources understand that former Reading and Portsmouth midfielder Brian Howard is in talks with Birmingham City.

Howard took the decision to make a fresh start away from British shores last summer as he linked up with Bulgarian outfit CSKA Sofia.

The 30-year-old is, however, now looking to head home and is in discussions with prospective employers.

Birmingham have expressed an interest in a man with vast Football League experience.

Howard, who spent the end of last season on the books of Bristol City, would help to bolster Lee Clark's options in the middle of the park over the second half of the campaign.
