Stephen Bunting failed to hit the heights of Wednesday but was still good enough to book his place in the semi-finals of the World Darts Championship at Lakeside.

The top seed averaged 100 on Wednesday - the first BDO century average since 2008 - but dropped to 91 on Thursday.

The Bullett was not near that form on Thursday night though, and he quickly slipped 2-0 behind in sets against Rick Hofstra.

Bunting had to dig in just to get a set on the board, and it was close again in the fourth before he levelled, with Hofstra missing doubles to stay ahead.

The pressure became too much for Hofstra and Bunting then showed his power to eventually go through 5-2.

Joining him in the semis is Robbie Green, who beat Tony Eccles by the same scoreline.

The afternoon session saw the second round matches wrapped up, with Jan Dekker a 4-2 winner against Geert de Vos and former champion Martin Adams a 4-1 victor against Ross Montgomery.
