Wasps director of rugby Dai Young has confirmed that Jack Moates and Ben Jacobs will miss the rest of the season through injury.

Scrum-half Moates suffered a knee ligament tear during last weekend's Amlin Challenge Cup win over Grenoble and requires surgery. The 21-year-old could be out of action for up to nine months.

Centre Jacobs tore ankle ligaments in the same game and also needs surgery. The Australian will be sidelined for a minimum of six months.

"It's a huge shame to lose two players for the remainder of the season in one go and it's a real blow to Jack and Ben," said Young.

"I know they will be working incredibly hard with our medical team to get back right."
