Former All Blacks international Jerome Kaino has confirmed he has signed a two-year contract to return to New Zealand from Japan.

The 30-year-old joined Toyota Verblitz after helping the All Blacks to win the Rugby World Cup in 2011.

However the back-rower will team up with the Blues and will now be eligible for the All Blacks until after the World Cup in 2015.

"Hey guys I can confirm I have signed with the NZRU & Blues for 2014/15, very excited about the challenge ahead," Kaino wrote on Twitter.

"But for now, it's back to business for Toyota Verblitz, who have been amazing and would love return someday!"

Kaino was scored eight tries in 48 Tests for the All Blacks, while he was named New Zealand's player of the year in 2011.
