Mame Biram Diouf: Said to be reluctant to sign a contract extension at Hannover
Hannover manager Dirk Dufner has admitted the club is not currently in talks to re-sign Mame Biram Diouf, despite his contract expiring at the end of the season.
The striker has scored 20 goals in his 42 appearances for the Bundesliga side since his switch from Old Trafford in 2012.
However, the former Manchester United and Blackburn Rovers player is understood to have made a short-list of clubs, both inside and outside of the Bundesliga, that he would like to play for.
Despite his contract due to expire at the end of the current season, there are rumours suggesting he is unwilling to renew his Hannover deal.
"We will surely resume with those contract talks."
However, Dufner expects that negotiations will reopen as soon as the Senegalese forward's agent returns to business after a period on holiday.
"We are actually not in talks, that information is true," he confirmed to Sky Deutschland.
"But I have agreed with Diouf's agent Jim Solbakken that we will be giving each other phone calls as soon as he is back in the office. And then we will surely resume with those contract talks."
Diouf has been a regular striker for the Bundesliga side but is currently out of action after sustaining a knock whilst on international duty earlier in the month.
