Edin Dzeko: Backed to pick up points in Sky Sports Fantasy Football this weekend

Manchester City's frontmen should be in demand for this weekend with the rest of Sky Sports Fantasy Football's top names engaged in either Super Sunday or Super Cup action.

As seen on Monday Night Football, the highly hyped early-season clashes all too often turn out to be tightly-fought, edgy encounters so Liverpool v Manchester United and Arsenal v Tottenham may not be the games to look at for big points scorers.

City, on the other hand, will be desperate to produce a backlash after their 3-1 loss at Cardiff and seemingly have the perfect opponents to produce against when Hull visit the Etihad Stadium.

Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko have led the line in both of Manuel Pellegrini's first two games and both have a goal apiece already.

The latter offers far better value at £8.5m, £1.3m less than his team-mate, while David Silva (£8.4m) is also worth considering having produced a goal and an assist this season.

Less obvious points could sit within Southampton's backline, with the Saints travelling to Norwich on Sunday having conceded just two goals in their last six away games.

Left-back Luke Shaw (£5.3m) is the most appealing option having shown his potential to cause problems at the other end with license to roam under Mauricio Pochettino.

Fellow English youngster Jamie Ward-Prowse is also flourishing under Pochettino with an assist last weekend, and is dirt cheap at a mere £4.3m.

West Ham's backline also looks set to pick up points this weekend as they welcome poor travellers Stoke having kept clean sheets in their opening two games - Guy Demel is the cheapest member of their backline at £5.4m.

Coy on Campbell

Some might be contemplating signing Fraizer Campbell up for Cardiff's clash with Everton after his brace against Manchester City, but it is worth considering the striker has not managed double figures in a single campaign since a loan spell with Antwerp back in 2006/07.

Seamus Coleman (6.7m) has also been racking up points with a goal, an assist and a Sky Sports man-of-the-match award so far.

The right-back's tendency to get forward should see him continue to rack up points while the Toffees kept a respectable 10 clean sheets last season.

Daniel Sturridge is actually the top points scorer so far with 24, having scored and been named MOTM in both of Liverpool's victories this season.

Whether he can continue with that rich vein of form against Manchester United on Sunday remains to be seen, while bosses might consider taking the armband away from Robin van Persie for the trip to Anfield.

The Dutchman remains the most popular player in the game with a place in 55 per cent of sides but plenty of bosses will have split loyalties as Simon Mignolet is second most picked.

Philippe Coutinho (25 per cent) is third followed by the most popular of the summer signings Roberto Soldado (22 per cent).

Samuel Eto'o has been added to the game after joining Chelsea and is priced up at £9m but will certainly not be in action this weekend as the Blues take on Bayern Munich in the Super Cup, which also sees Swansea sit out.
