George North has set his sights on trophy glory in his first season with the Northampton Saints.

The Wales winger has joined up with his new team-mates after an extended break in the wake of the Lions tour, and he is keen to get his first season in the Aviva Premiership underway.

North, 21, told the Northampton Herald & Post: "One of the reasons I was keen to come down to Northampton is to be fighting for titles and silverware.

"They've been in the hunt for the Premiership for a few years now and also in the shake up for Europe as well.

Chance

"I haven't had the chance to win silverware with the Scarlets, but I'm coming across to a good club that's got a good chance to win a lot of silverware.

"Having that bit of time off to chill a bit was good, but it's a nice feeling to be back training now and the boys here have made me feel really welcome.

"The move is only what people have made of it really. I'm really happy to be here as part of the squad and I'm just looking forward to getting out on the pitch now and playing some games."
