Shaun Wane: Says a different Wigan Warriors side will show up against the Giants

Shaun Wane has promised his Wigan Warriors side will be back on song for the visit of Super League leaders Huddersfield Giants in Friday's mouth-watering clash.

Last season's League Leaders' Shield winners were far from their best against Hull KR last week, however, they were able to grind out a 21-16 success.

The Giants, who toppled Wigan 22-10 in February, will prove a stern test at the DW Stadium, a match that can be seen live on Sky Sports 3HD.

Wigan have the prospect of a Tetley's Challenge Cup final on the horizon against Hull FC and Wane insists his troops will be going for the victory in every match.

Different team

"Huddersfield have been very, very good this year and we will need to be a lot better than we were against Hull KR," Wane told the Wigan Evening Post. "We will be a different team, I can assure you.

"I want to win every game and win every trophy like every Super League coach. There isn't a coach who doesn't want to win everything and I think if we keep chalking these games off like we are doing then we are giving ourselves a chance.

"We are in control - we are grinding games out, not at our best but are still doing enough to win games.

"That's a real positive this year, there are times in the past when we have not played well and lost a game but we are a lot mentally tougher this year."
