Wigan Warriors scrum-half Matty Smith wants his team-mates to focus on regaining top spot after securing their place in the Tetley's Challenge Cup final.

Shaun Wane's men destroyed Super League strugglers London Broncos 70-0 in Saturday's first semi-final, although their form in the league has been patchy of late.

"It was great to get to Wembley but our concentration now has to be back on the league."

The Warriors have lost three of four in league action, including a 22-16 loss to rivals St Helens at Langtree Park when Wane opted to rest some of his key players.

The loss of form in the league has allowed Huddersfield to move top and now Smith wants to pile the pressure on the Giants, starting with success over Hull KR on Friday.

"It was great to get to Wembley but our concentration now has to be back on the league," Smith told the Wigan Evening Post.

Focus

"It's Hull KR on Friday - we're in second at the minute and we want to be back on top and get that League Leaders' Shield, so concentration is back on the league and hopefully we'll put on a good performance."

Former St Helens man Smith joined Wigan from Salford last season and he is honoured to play for such a prestigious club as the Warriors.

"I came to Wigan because of how big the club is and how much history it has got. It is a great honour to play for Wigan," he continued.

"I came here to play in big games and Wembley is going to be great.

"Hopefully we can concentrate on the league for now but when Wembley comes it will be a great occasion for everyone."
